From the ADAA Chair ... March 2009

The schedule for  Dogmania 2009 – Canine Sports Carnival, to be held 2 – 4 May 2009, is currently being finalised and will be held at Pine Rivers Showgrounds at Lawnton. This means that, in addition to the many great features of last year’s event, camping will be available at the grounds. Dogmania 2009 will incorporate Agility, Australian Canine Disc National Championships, Short Course 3 Sheep Trial and IPO Dogsport (with an international Judge) as well as other dog displays and merchandise stalls. Thanks to Marion Allen and everyone else who has stepped up to be a part of the Dogmania Sub-Committee.

A reminder that Expressions of Interest for Team Captain to represent Australia at the IFCS World Agility Championships close on or before 31 March 2009, and Expressions of Interest for Team Coach and Team Handlers close on or before 30 April 2009. There will be absolutely no late expressions of interest accepted for any of these positions, so take the time to complete and lodge your expression of interest now rather than miss out.  Details of the June event (which will be held at Macksville), as the first WAC selection competition, are currently being planned. If you are able to assist, your help will be gratefully appreciated. Please let me know that you are interested in helping by emailing chairman@adaa.com.au.

Quite a bit of behind the scenes work has been undertaken over the Christmas break to update ADAA’s database of members, dogs, titles and awards and they should now all be up to date. Have a look at some of the fabulous achievements of our members in the Hall of Fame.  If your dog has its MAAD, AAC or R-EAD make sure that we have a photo in the Hall of Fame. If it is missing, please email a photo to Nat Kirkwood natkirkwood@optusnet.com.au (it doesn't need to be a large file size).

Members are advised that the Board of Directors will be undertaking a review of the Agility Regulations this year. If you wish to lodge a submission please do so by either emailing it to Steve Drinkwater (steve.drinkwater@maspares.com.au) or by posting it addressed to: The Director Judging, Agility Dog Association of Australia Ltd, PO Box 2212, Gailes Qld 4300.
