![]() From the ADAA Chair ... May 2006
Thank you to all of the members who submitted feedback to the Board regarding the Provisional Agility Regulations. The Board has considered all of the input and has made a number of changes. Information on the feedback received together with further information from the Board is now available (PDF download - 60kb). In addition, because a number of members expressed their concern at being disadvantaged that food was no longer allowed in the ring under the proposed Not-For-Competition (NFC) but other rewards were, the Board is providing a further opportunity for all members to provide feedback. Submissions on whether you wish to have the proposed Not-For-Competition included in the Regulations, or totally excluded, may be sent to ADAA’s Secretary secretary@adaa.com.au on or before Tuesday 23 May 2006. This provides the third progressive opportunity for members contribute to and have their views included in ADAA’s Agility Regulations to be adopted on 1 July 2006. A reminder that nominations are being accepted for the Queensland and New South Wales Agility Training Camps. Please refer to the camp schedule and booking form. Early bird entries, at reduced fees, close later this month, so don’t leave it until the last minute with the risk of missing the final closing date and missing out altogether. There is a great programme at each of the camps and you get the opportunity to choose those sessions that best suit you and your dog. The Board is seeking the assistance of members who have had previous experience in developing policies and procedures. If this is something that you have previously assisted with, please contact me and let me know as we would love to hear from you. Along these lines, special thanks to Jennifer Deuis for doing a great job in designing a logo for us for some ADAA shirts. Just to prove that the Board of Directors, augmented by some much appreciated volunteers in the Grand Prix sub-committee, has been working extremely hard, the schedule for the Grand Prix has been finalised and, by the time this report gets posted, will be released. Dogs on the International Programme Register have again been offered a full two and half days’ events. Plus, you will notice that the 24 Weave Pole Challenge has been removed to accommodate inclusion of Dogs on the Regular Programme Register. In addition, we continue to recognise the efforts of our Junior Handlers with a variety of events for them too. Start making your plans for the Crazy Hat Party on Sunday night. Finally congratulations to Steve Drinkwater, for judging at the recent IFCS World Agility Championships held in the Netherlands. Steve is a member of the IFCS Board and was also appointed Chief Judge for the weekend. May you enjoy your training with your dog and achieve your goals. Cathy Slot |
