From the Chairman...September 2004
The first ever Junior and Regular events have now been
conducted. Congratulations to Rebecca Ridge on earning the first Junior Handler
Clear Round card. A great effort. About 8 members enjoyed these new programs, so
I guess it can only grow from here. If clubs need assistance in working these
new programs into their schedules then please contact me chairman@adaa.com.au or
give me a call.
I am pleased to confirm that ADAA has secured a venue for the NSW Greg Derrett
and Susan Garrett Agility camp in Feb/Mar 2005 at 2 Freeman Rd Heathcote. Bunks
are available and own camping is permitted. Full details and map to come ASAP.
Unfortunately there are no lights so ADAA will not be conducting any
competitions at the NSW camp (however there will be some at the Qld camp).
Congratulations to PAWS for conducting their first ever competition. Apparently
they were a little worried about the weather because it snowed there the weekend
before – but the weather all turned out great in the end and from what I hear,
lots of fun was had.
Congratulations to all of our Dog of the Year qualifiers, a huge effort on your
part. Letters have been sent out this week to confirm your entry in this event.
Best of luck to you all in the final next month at Uralla.
As we get closer to the Grand Prix we also get closer to the ADAA AGM, notices
will be out later in the month. My three-year tenure is almost up so next
month’s report will be my last as Chairman of ADAA, a role that I have enjoyed
immensely.
Plenty of work has gone into preparing for this year’s Grand Prix and I would
like to take this early opportunity to thank this year’s organising committee of
which the majority are based in NSW. Many of them have not undertaken such a
task before and have done an admirable job. It is really appreciated, so thanks
to you all, not long to go now. They are a great example of how many hands make
the task a little easier.
This time next month the Grand Prix will be here.
Regards,
Natalie Kirkwood
