- 1. The ADAA Medallion Stakes is an annual awards based
competition for dogs registered with ADAA. The Medallion Stakes will be held
within each of the four height Classes (separate competitions for International
and Regular Programme Registered dogs). It is the dog that receives award
points. The handler may vary from round to round.
-
2. During 2009 the competition will be conducted over ten (10) rounds between
October 2008 and August 2009, with a maximum of nine (9) rounds to count toward
any dog’s points tally. Both NSW and QLD will conduct ten rounds where
competitors may earn points. Points earned in NSW may only be used for your
dog’s NSW’s tally, points earned in QLD may only be used for your dog’s QLD
tally. For rounds conducted at the same location simultaneously, points will be
allocated to the tallies in the state of residence as listed on ADAA records
unless otherwise notified to ADAA in writing.
-
3. Each of the rounds will be at the Open A or Regular-Open A Standard as
applicable to the class. Dogs will be awarded points based on a clear
round/qualifying run and time/faults/points earned basis. The owner of any/all
dogs that have achieved the set minimum number of points at the completion of
the ten rounds (within each State) will be awarded either a Bronze, Silver or
Gold Medallion. Duplicate medallions may be purchased from ADAA (cost available
on application).
- 4. Further, rankings based on points
achieved throughout the International Programme Register competition will be
used for ascertaining eligibility (from each State) for the top ten (10) in each
Class to receive an invitation to the Medallion Invitational Stakes (to be
conducted at the 2009 Grand Prix).
-
5. Each Round to be held under the Rules and Agility Regulations of the Agility
Dog Association of Australia Ltd, and these Rules and Summary of Competition.
-
6. Host entities must allow non-AAD dogs to enter the Medallion Stakes Round
hosted by them. Host entities must offer 4 height classes across both IPR and
RPR for each Medallion Stakes Round. Host entities must conduct at least 3 Open
standard tests or games on the competition day to be eligible to conduct a
round.
-
7. Judging and specific scoring/benchmark details for all Games will be
announced by the Judge prior to the Game. Judges must use benchmark options 4 or
5 when conducting Individual Gamblers rounds.
- 8. All dogs and
handlers must be registered with ADAA.
-
Dogs under 18 months of age are not eligible for entry.
-
Non-AAD dogs are eligible to enter the competition.
-
Bitches in oestrum may not compete or remain in the precincts of the
Competition.
-
Dogs may only enter Classes as per the eligibility for Classes in the ADAA
Regulations and the schedule of events.
- 9. There are no additional fees (over and above normal entry
fee) for competing in the Medallion Stakes.
- 10. Any
disputes regarding any aspect of the competition or the prize will be resolved
by the Board of Directors of ADAA, in such manner as they may determine, and
such decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
-
11. It is a condition of entry that the owner/handler authorises ADAA to take,
or arrange to have taken, any and all photographs/video-taping of dog and/or
handler and releases copyright of such photos/video-taping to ADAA for its use
as it deems fit (including publication in any magazines).
- 12. Upon hearing a MCT/Dismissal whistle (if used) the
handler and dog must immediately leave the ring.
- 13. Any
attempt to impugn the Judge, or any display considered by the Judge (or ADAA
Board of Directors) to be unsportsmanlike or not in the best interests of the
sport and/or ADAA may result in the handler being deemed ineligible to win a
prize/medallion.
-
14. All dogs entered in Classes other than Maxi must have an official height
recorded with ADAA to be eligible for a medallion and/or an invitation to the
final.
- 15. Unless specifically approved by the Board of
Directors (due to special circumstances), points earned in a height Class are
not transferable to another height Class.
- 16. Points earned by a dog in the International Register
Programme competition are transferable to the Regular Programme Register
competition if a dog transfers between the two registers during the competition
timeline, but not vice versa. This will occur at the time of transfer unless
otherwise notified to ADAA within 14 days of a transfer request.
-
17. It is expected that handlers will assist with course changes, and
stewarding, in rings when possible.
- 18. Any dog who has
had contact with an infectious disease (except kennel cough), is excluded from
any ADAA sanctioned event for 18 days post contact. If a dog on club grounds is
established as having an infectious disease (except kennel cough), then all dogs
on the ground are excluded from ADAA events for 18 days. Any dog who has kennel
cough, or any dog in the same household, is excluded from any ADAA sanctioned
event for 21 days from the onset of clinical signs of kennel cough. (see
Interim Kennel Cough Policy).

- 21. A Judge nominated to judge on the same day as a round of
the Medallion Stakes, be it at the club holding the Medallion Stakes round or
any other club, in the same state or not, may nominate a dog or dogs that they
have registered for the year as handling the dog in Medallion Stakes, to receive
a bonus of fifteen (15) points in lieu of the opportunity to compete in that
specific round. If a Judge has to travel on the day of a Medallion Stakes round
so that they can get to/from a competition they are judging before/after a
Medallion Stakes round, then they will also be eligible to nominate a dog(s) to
receive the bonus points. A dog cannot be nominated to receive the 15 point
bonus if it competed in the Medallion Stakes for that specific round. Judges may
only receive the bonus points for registered dogs for a maximum of three rounds
in their state of domicile. Judges are ineligible to receive the 15 point bonus
for the round conducted at the Grand Prix, unless a judge at the Grand Prix
judges for the entire weekend and does not compete, then they are eligible for
the 15 points for the round held at the Grand Prix.
- 22. A Judge’s Medallion Stakes Registration Form must be
lodged by Judges to register dogs that they would like to be allocated points
for in Medallion Stakes rounds that they have performed a judging obligation in
lieu of competing. Only dogs that have been officially registered with ADAA,
using the form, prior to the round, will be awarded points under this rule. If a
dog that does not live in the household of the Judge, is handled by another
person in a particular round, then all subsequent rounds will be deemed
ineligible for points allocation under this rule. (Normal points allocation is
still applicable.)
- 23. Medallions will be awarded to all dogs that earn at
least One (1) Clear Round or Qualifying Certificate AND total points in line
with the following (there is no limit to the number of dogs that could acquire
the set number of points below):

-
85 - 114 points - Silver Medallion,
-
115 and above points - Gold Medallion.
- 24. At the completion of each round, the judge will take the
scoresheets and submit them to ADAA for processing. If a club wishes to get a
copy of the scoresheets for rounds conducted by them, then please contact the
Secretary and a photocopy will be returned to the club.
-
25. As progressive results are calculated they will be added to the ADAA web
page for viewing. Disputes should be submitted in writing within 14 days of the
round results being officially posted on the ADAA web page or ADAA mail out for
those in receipt of these.

reserve date is no longer suitable, the Board reserves the right to nominate
another date.

for invitation to the Medallion Invitational Stakes to be held at the 2009 Grand
Prix.

nine rounds to count toward dog’s points tally), who have met the minimum points
tally of thirty (30) points, will be invited to compete in the Medallion
