Agility Titles you can earn
Titles are letters added to the end of a dog's name to signify
that a dog has achieved a certain standard in agility. Dogs who gain titles are
presented with a certificate and rosette. ADAA also have Handler Awards. You can
also visit our Hall of Fame for listings of
titled dogs. The ADAA Regulations
have full explanations and details about the following titles.

Titles in the Combined Program
- Beginner Australian Agility Dog (BAAD)
- Dogs that have gained four Clear Round certificates in
Combined-Elementary Agility/Jumping Tests with at least two being gained in
Agility Tests.
- Australian Agility Dog (AAD) - Dogs
that have gained four Clear Round certificates in Combined-Starters within the
CP, Intermediate and/or Open within the IP, or Regular-Intermediate and/or
Regular-Open within the RP for Agility/Jumping Tests with at least two being
gained in Agility Tests.
- Australian Agility Team Dog (AATD)
- Dogs that have gained three "Qualifying" Certificates from Combined-Open Pairs
Games and Combined-Open Team Games, with at least one being from a Team Game. See our notes about finding
a partner or team mates.

Titles in the International Program
- Senior Australian Agility Dog (SAAD)
- Dogs that have their AAD title and then gain five clear round certificates in
Intermediate and/or Open Agility/Jumping Tests, with at least three being gained
in Agility Tests.
- Australian Jumping Dog (AJD) - Dogs
that have gained seven Clear Round Certificates in Intermediate, Open and/or
Advanced Jumping Tests with at least three being gained in Open and/or Advanced
Jumping Tests. CRC used toward another title are not eligible.
- Master Australian Agility Dog (MAAD)
- Dogs that have their SAAD title and then gain six clear round certificates in
Open Agility/Jumping Tests (with at least two being Agility) and three
qualifying certificates from any Open standard Individual Game (with at least
one being Gamblers or Snooker).
An application for MAAD title that does not include a Qualifying Certificate for
Open Individual Gamblers must include any Open Standard Clear Round or
Qualifying Certificate that has been achieved on or after 1 January 2003. Cards
that have been used toward another title are not eligible to be used.
- Additional Achievement MAAD2, MAAD3, etc. Dogs that have their MAAD title,
may go on to earn the title of MAAD2, when the dog has earned enough
qualifications to gain the MAAD title over again. There is no limit to the
recognition a MAAD dog can achieve. It would be possible in theory, to be
awarded the title MAAD20.
- Australian Agility Games Dog (AAGD)
- Dogs that have gained seven "Qualifying" Certificates, after 1 January 2001,
in Open Individual Games, with at least two being from Gamblers and at least two
being from Snooker. Other Games may make up the further three "Qualifying"
Certificates. "Qualifying" Certificates from Open Individual Games, utilised to
achieve another title (eg MAAD), are not eligible.
- Additional Achievement AAGD2, AAGD3, etc. Dogs that have their AAGD title,
may go on to earn the title of AAGD2, when the dog has earned enough
qualifications to gain the AAGD title over again. There is no limit to the
recognition a AAGD dog can achieve. It would be possible in theory, to be
awarded the title AAGD20.
- Gamblers Dog (GD) - Dogs that have gained seven "Qualifying" Certificates
from Open Individual Gamblers Games on or after 1 January 2003. QC used toward
another title are not eligible. See article about starting in Games.
- Snooker Dog (SD) - Dogs that have gained seven "Qualifying" Certificates
from Open Individual Snooker Games on or after 1 January 2003. QC used toward
another title are not eligible.
- Australian Agility Champion (AAC) - Dogs that have gained the titles MAAD,
AAGD and AATD. You can see the ADAA AAC titled dogs in our
Hall of Fame.
- International Agility Dog (IAD) -
Dogs that have already been awarded the title SAAD and then gain seven
International Certificates in Advanced Agility/Jumping Tests (with a minimum of
two Agility and two Jumping).
- Additional Achievement IAD2, IAD3, etc. Dogs that have their IAD title, may
go on to earn the title of IAD2, when the dog has earned enough qualifications
to gain the IAD title over again. There is no limit to the recognition a IAD
dog can achieve. It would be possible in theory, to be awarded the title IAD20.

Titles in the Regular Program
- Regular Senior Australian Agility Dog (R-SAAD)
- Dogs that have gained five Clear Round Certificates in
Regular-Intermediate and/or Regular-Open Agility/Jumping Tests, with at least
three of the Clear Round Certificates being gained in Agility Tests. There is
some scope to recognise Clear Round cards earned previously in the International
program.
- Regular Australian Jumping Dog (R-AJD)
- Dogs that have gained seven Clear Round Certificates in
Regular-Intermediate and / or Regular-Open Jumping Tests with at least three
being gained in Regular-Open Jumping Tests. CRC used toward another title are
not eligible.
- Regular Master Australian Agility Dog (R-MAAD)
- Dogs that have their R-SAAD title and then gain six clear round
certificates in Regular-Open Agility/Jumping Tests (with at least two being
Agility) and three qualifying certificates from any Regular-Open standard
Individual Game (with at least one being Gamblers or Snooker). There is some
scope to recognise Clear Round cards earned previously in the International
program.
- Additional Achievement R-MAAD2, R-MAAD3, etc.
Dogs that have their R-MAAD title, may go on to earn the title of R-MAAD2, when
the dog has earned enough qualifications to gain the R-MAAD title over again.
There is no limit to the recognition a R-MAAD dog can achieve. It would be
possible in theory, to be awarded the title R-MAAD20.
- Regular Australian Agility Games Dog
(R-AAGD) - Dogs that have gained seven "Qualifying" Certificates in
Regular Open Individual Games, with at least two being from Gamblers and at
least two being from Snooker. Other Games may make up the further three
"Qualifying" Certificates. "Qualifying" Certificates from Regular Open
Individual Games, utilised to achieve another title (eg R-MAAD), are not
eligible.
- Additional Achievement R-AAGD2, R-AAGD3, etc. Dogs that have their

Titles in the Junior Program
- Junior Handler Owned & Trained 1 (JHOT1)
- JHOT competitor that has gained four JHOT Certificates in
Junior-Elementary, Junior-Starters, Combined-Starters, Junior-Intermediate,
Intermediate, Regular-Intermediate, Open, Regular-Open and/or Advanced
Agility/Jumping Tests with a minimum of two being gained in Agility Tests.
- Junior Handler Owned & Trained 2 (JHOT2)
- JHOT competitor that has gained the JHOT1 and then been awarded seven
JHOT Certificates in Junior-Intermediate, Intermediate, Regular-Intermediate,
Open, Regular-Open and/or Advanced Agility/Jumping Tests with at least of two
being gained in Agility Tests and two from Jumping Tests. Additional achievement
is then available.

- Bronze Handler Award (BHA) - Issued to Handlers who have achieved 100 Clear
Round and/or Qualifying Certificates from any Standard. The member applying for
the award must be listed on each Certificate as the Handler. The owner of the
dog is irrelevant. The BHA signifies the handler's contribution and commitment to ADAA and the
sport of Dog Agility.
- Silver Handler Award (SHA) - Issued to Handlers who have achieved 200 Clear
Round and/or Qualifying Certificates from any Standard. The member applying for
the award must be listed on each Certificate as the Handler. The owner of the
dog is irrelevant. The SHA signifies the handler's long term contribution and commitment to ADAA
and the sport of Dog Agility.
- Gold Handler Award (GHA) - Issued to Handlers who have achieved 300 Clear
Round and/or Qualifying Certificates from any Standard. The member applying for
the award must be listed on each Certificate as the Handler. The owner of the
dog is irrelevant. The GHA signifies the handler's significant contribution and outstanding
commitment to ADAA and the sport of Dog Agility.
- Diamond Handler Award (DHA) -
Issued to Handlers who have achieved 500 Clear Round and/or Qualifying
Certificates from any Standard/Programme except Junior. The member applying for
the award must be listed on each Certificate as the Handler. The owner of the
dog is irrelevant. The DHA signifies the handler's significant contribution and
extreme commitment to ADAA and the sport of Dog Agility.
- Platinum Handler Award (PHA) -
Issued to Handlers who have achieved 750 Clear Round and/or Qualifying
Certificates from any Standard/Programme except Junior. The member applying for
the award must be listed on each Certificate as the Handler. The owner of the
dog is irrelevant. The PHA signifies the handler's long term and extraordinary
contribution and extreme commitment to ADAA and the sport of Dog Agility.
The above awards are applied for on a title application form, but do not list
cards achieved. Submit to any judge at a competition for counting. There is no
fee for applying for this award.

The Junior Programme is restricted to Junior members (have their own membership
category) or Full members between the age of 10 and 16 (inclusive) that are
included on a “Family” membership. The Board of Directors may approve schedules
splitting the Junior class.
- Junior Handler Award (JHA)- Issued
to Junior handlers who have achieved 4 Clear Round Certificates from any
Standard (Agility or Jumping Tests) within the Junior Programme, with a minimum
of two being from Agility Tests. The Junior Handler applying for the award must
be listed on each Certificate as the Handler. The owner of the dog on each
Certificate is irrelevant. The JHA award signifies the Junior handler’s basic
understanding of handling within the sport of Dog Agility.
- Junior Handler Award 2 (JHA2)-
Issued to Junior handlers who have been awarded JHA and have subsequently
achieved 7 Clear Round Certificates from Junior-Starters or Junior-Intermediate
Agility or Jumping Tests (with at least 2 being from Junior Intermediate Agility
Tests and 2 being from Junior Intermediate Jumping Tests). The Junior Handler
applying for the award must be listed on each Certificate as the Handler. The
owner of the dog on each Certificate is irrelevant. The JHA2 award signifies the
Junior handler’s progression, increased handling skills and confidence within
the sport of Dog Agility.
- Junior Handler Award 3 (JHA3)-
Issued to Junior handlers who have been awarded JHA2 and have subsequently
achieved 10 Clear Round Certificates from Junior Intermediate Agility/Jumping
with at least Intermediate being from Junior Intermediate Agility Tests and 2
being from Junior 2 Jumping Tests). The Junior Handler applying for the award
must be listed on each Certificate as the Handler. The owner of the dog on each
Certificate is irrelevant. The JHA3 award signifies the Junior handler’s
commitment and high level of handling skill within the sport of Dog Agility.

Only Clear Round Certificates gained at Competitions
within the JP will be accepted, JHOT Certificates may not be used towards the
JAA.
- Junior Achievement Award – Bronze (JAAB)
- Junior Handlers who have achieved 25 Clear Round Certificates from any
Standard within the Junior Programme. The JAAB signifies the Junior Handler’s
determination to achieve within the ADAA and the sport of Dog Agility.
- Junior Achievement Award – Silver (JAAS)
- Junior Handlers who have achieved 50 Clear Round Certificates from any
Standard within the Junior Programme. The JAAS signifies the Junior Handler’s
proven determination and ability to achieve within the ADAA and the sport of Dog
Agility.
- Junior Achievement Award – Gold (JAAG)
- Junior Handlers who have achieved 75 Clear Round Certificates from any
Standard within the Junior Programme. The JAAG signifies the Junior Handler’s
proven determination, ability and commitment to achieve within the ADAA and the
sport of Dog Agility.
