ADAA GRAND PRIX 2008 - MACKSVILLE - NSW

ADAA is pleased to announce that the venue for the 2008 Grand Prix will be:

• Macksville Showgrounds, Rodeo Drive, Macksville, New South Wales.
  (Friday 3 October 2008 to Monday 6 October 2008 inclusive)

Where is Macksville?

Macksville is situated 10 minutes south of Nambucca Heads (see map inset), and 40 minutes south of Coffs Harbour.

• From Sydney, Macksville is 475km
• From Brisbane, Macksville is 462km

About Macksville

The showgrounds are situated on the northern side of the Nambucca River, and are approximately .5 km off the Pacific Highway. The area is very dog-friendly with several caravan parks welcoming travellers with dogs.

Macksville and Nambucca Heads offer a variety of shops and places to eat and are also open for business on Sunday.
 

Facilities (See photographs of grounds)

Macksville showgrounds has 2 toilet blocks with one having 12 showers (6 male, 6 female) in addition to toilets.

There are up to 100 powered sites available at the grounds. The sites are situated in an area where they are overlooking the ring area.

The presentation area and dining hall easily cater for 150-200 people.

The grounds have a weed (includes bindies) spraying regime in place and looked fantastic when we visited in November 2007.

As per the Nambucca Shire Council website:

Off-leash Areas

NAMBUCCA HEADS - from Swimming Creek beach access northwards to the walk bridge access to the beach from the public reserve adjoining Valla Park Resort

NORTH VALLA BEACH - from the access path off the car park on the northern end of Cockburn Street (4WD access) to the northern boundary of the Shire.

SCOTTS HEAD - from the Christian Youth Centre beach access path on Banksia Crescent, northwards.

Dogs are also permitted on the following beaches before 9.00 am and after 6.00 pm On-leash only

NORTH VALLA BEACH - from the timber walkway on the north ide of the Headland to the access path referred to above.

NAMBUCCA HEADS MAIN BEACH - from the northern end of the Main Beach carpark northward to Swimming Creek beach access.

Average temperatures for the region are:
September: Minimum of 11 deg C; Maximum of 22 deg C
October: Minimum of 14 deg C; Maximum of 23 deg C
