Grand Prix 2009 FAQ's
We need HEROs!!!

Information flyer (PDF 48 kb) to learn more.
Do you want to be a HERO?
In 2009, the ADAA Grand Prix Committee is again searching for HEROs. It is a
condition of Grand Prix entry that handlers assist in course changes, scribing
and/or timekeeping. However, the Grand Prix Committee has decided to reduce the
workload for many of the key roles at the 2009 Grand Prix by soliciting
participation from dedicated non-competing volunteers, these people will be
recognised as HEROs (Highly Energised Recruited Offsiders).
What do HEROs do?
HEROS are Scribes, Ring Managers, Announcers, Merchandise Sales, Data Entry,
Raffle Sales, Grounds Runners, Prize Distribution and a Super HERO or two.
Why Become a HERO?
HEROs will have a unique opportunity to share in the fun of the 2009 Grand Prix
even though they are not competing. You will have the chance to join a group of
fun people dedicated to making the weekend as much fun as possible for the
competitors. Additionally, 2009 Grand Prix HEROs will receive a cheque
reimbursement in recognition of their valued contribution to the success of the
weekend and the chance to win prizes. HEROs who volunteer their time all weekend
will receive 100% reimbursement for:
> Camping fees from Friday night to Monday night (inclusive)
> Breakfasts from Saturday morning to Monday morning (inclusive)
> $5 each day (Saturday to Monday) to cover lunch costs
> Dinners on Friday night and Saturday night
> Ticket to the Sunday Night Buffet Sit-Down Dinner
HEROs who are unable to volunteer for the whole weekend
will receive reimbursement equal to the percentage of the weekend that they
spent volunteering. HEROs will be provided with regular rest breaks (up to 2
hours at a time) during Grand Prix so that they can have a good time too. HEROs
will be provided with free fruit, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, soft drinks and
munchies during event times so that their concentration levels will be at peak
performance.
How does someone become a HERO?
Only people who will not be competing at any time during the Grand Prix weekend
can become HEROs. HEROs do not need to be experienced agility competitors. They
will be provided with on-the-job training at their choice of selected ADAA
competitions before Grand Prix so they will receive full training for their
role.
