Do You Have What It Takes to be a Grand Prix Coordinator?

In 2012 we’re looking to expand our team of talented ADAA Volunteers by having 2 Joint Coordinators meet the challenges of delivering our high calibre event, the Grand Prix 2012.

If you live and breathe the sport of Agility and feel you are ready to contribute back to your Sport then join the fantastic bunch of ADAA Volunteers. Bring your qualifications and skills to this exciting life changing role we have on offer, put in your application and sit tight!

The Event is to be held at the Tamworth AELEC Centre, boasting state of the art facilities and services, and this will ensure the Grand Prix will continue from strength to strength and ensure we are paving the way of the sport for years to come.

Your assistance will ensure we continue to make a difference to people’s lives as they participate in and grow to love the Sport of Agility.

Job Description

Qualifications:

  • Ability to lead a group of willing assistants, ensuring all are managing their tasks both in preparation for the Grand Prix and while at the event.
  • Ability to manage the flow of the event: maintaining time schedules and safety.
  • Email connectivity. Most planning and organising is done by email allowing cooperation by members residing in different regions.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, with assistance from the previous year’s coordinator, the GP Subcommittee in the planning of the event including creating the schedule & receiving entries, the logo & colour scheme, organising prizes, organising equipment transportation, event volunteer workers and the Sunday Dinner and the prize giving.
  • Coordinate the Sub Committee in the following roles: Sponsorship, Catering, Entries, Promotion & Marketing, Camping, Sunday Dinner planning, Volunteer Coordinators and monitor that roles are being fulfilled adequately.
  • Control the running of the event including judges’ welcome, competitor welcome, maintaining the flow of the rings, delegating who does media interviews, preparation for the Sunday Dinner, who maintains the flow from the prize room of prizes during the weekend, preparation of the major Prize giving.

Term of Office:

  • 1st year working with previous year’s Co-Coordinator in planning stages prior to the event and as Lead organizer at the event. (You will be unable to compete)
  • 2nd Year working as Joint Coordinator training a new Coordinator who will be the lead organizer at the Event. (You will be able to compete)
